Why we built this

We created Friend of a Friend with a simple belief: women are more successful together than apart. Most professional communities are built for visibility, not for each other. Co-Founder

Alison is a marketing executive and brand advisor working with CMOs and leadership teams to address brand and business challenges. She's built a career crafting narratives, developing strategies, and creating ecosystems where culture, connection, and creativity drive growth.

Most notably, she helped build Etsy from thousands to millions of members. A lifelong people- and dot-connector, she's passionate about creating spaces where ideas flourish and people authentically connect.

Jessica Lauretti

Co-Founder

Jessica is a growth executive who partners with founders and leadership teams to build new brands, ventures, and institutions. She is also the author of Work Friends, a relationship-first growth system for building businesses through trust, community, and reputation.

She began her career in DIY music scenes and independent creative communities, where she learned how ecosystems actually grow: through trust, collaboration, and shared momentum. That foundation continues to shape her work today.
